About Us
Dean Wampler founded aspectprogramming.com in 2003. Dean recognized the potential of Aspect-Oriented Software Development to address the limitations of using objects alone. In particular, objects don't prevent modularity breakdown when cross-cutting concerns interact in a fine-grained way.
More recently, interest in Functional Programming has surged, because FP provides a robust approach to writing concurrent software. Also, it is now rare for a non-trivial application to use just one programming language. Therefore, Dean started polyglotprogramming.com in 2008 to explore the effective use of multiple languages and modularity paradigms, like OOP, AOP, and FP.The mission of these sites is to develop and document effective tools and techniques that exploit these technologies and to introduce them to the software development community at large.
